Wilda “June” Waugh, age 77, passed away Wednesday, December 25th, 2024, at her home. She was born in Gallipolis, Ohio, on June 1st, 1947.

June leaves behind her husband, Charles “Fred” Waugh; daughter, Christina (Gregg) Brown; grandchildren: Krystal Waugh (Brian), Evan Camp (Kiersten), Jenna Camp, Jeremy Waugh (Bailey), Josh Waugh (Augusta); 13 great-grandchildren; and one on the way; siblings: Billy (Pam) Miller, Belinda (Willy) Fox, and Andy (Betty) Miller; and her aunt, Gladys Moon, that she truly loved.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Liza Waugh; mother, Betty (Cantor) Lewis; father, Bill Miller; stepmother, Wanda Miller; brother, Gary Miller; sister-in-law, Michelle Miller; and two sisters, Phyllis and Rosie.

June loved her husband, her children, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Not including all the people, she has come to know in her life that she considered family. She truly loved everyone. She always said, “You’re only a stranger once!” as well as “If you go hungry, it’s your own fault!”

She had a love for birds. She enjoyed watching them through the window, especially her hummingbirds. June and Fred were foster parents for several years servicing the Gallia County area. One year they were recognized as Foster Family of the Year. Although they would have loved to adopt every child they cared for, they got their girls, Christina and Liza.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 30th, 2024, from 2PM-4PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. A funeral service will immediately follow at 4PM at the funeral home with a burial after at Fairmount Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillumfh@gmail.com.
