Valerie U. Lewis, age 92, of Jackson, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 17th, 2024. She was born April 4th, 1932, in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Wilbur and Florence (Meacham) Brooks.

Valerie retired from Jackson Plastics with over 40 years of service. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church where she attended faithfully until her declining health no longer allowed. Valerie enjoyed making dolls and other various craft items. She was very passionate about her flowers and tending to them. Her family will miss her dearly and remember her always as a shy, quiet-natured, and loving woman of faith.

She is survived by her sons, Larry Tilley and Darrell (Doris) Tilley; daughters, Carma Donaldson and Diana (Robert) Adkins; 12 grandchildren: Ectasy, Doug, Chad, Waylon, Alicia, Alan “Roger”, Hannah, Nathan, Missy, Krista, Mika, and Jessica; several great-grandchildren; her brothers, Ernest (Carol) Tilley and James Tilley; and long time friend, Katrena McCoy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda; granddaughters, Bethany and Valeri; sister, Sharon Manning; and brothers, Eugene Brooks, Richard Tilley, and Ellis Tilley; first husband, George Tilley; and second husband, Merrill "Dip" Lewis.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 27th, 2024, from 11AM-2PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson with a funeral service beginning at 2PM with Pastor Jerry Compton officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
