Thelma Martin, age 77, passed away on February 16, 2025, in Jackson, Ohio. Born on January 13, 1948, in Ironton, Ohio, she lived a life rich with love and devotion, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Thelma's warmth and generosity were the heart of her existence. She found immense joy in the presence of her loved ones and embraced each day with an open heart. Her kindness radiated to those around her, creating a legacy of compassion and unwavering support.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Helen Hillard, Barbara Hillard (Keith), Amy Henson, and Missy Farley. She was a proud grandmother to seventeen grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to thirty-five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Eugene (Shirley) Harmon and Billy Harmon and sister, Jessie (Ed) Tolliver. Thelma also shared a special bond with her dear friend, Jim Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Viola and Earl Trace; her birth father, James Harmon; her grandmother, Minnie Nichols; her daughter, Linda Henson; two sisters, Mary Trace and Maxine Nichols; her brothers, Clarence Hartman and Clifford Harmon; her grandson, Brian Hillard; and her granddaughter, Brandi Pollitt.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 19th, 2025, from 12-2PM with a funeral beginning at 2PM at Lewis & Gillum Funeral, 202 Maple Avenue, Oak Hill, OH 45656. Burial will follow at German Salem Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
