Susan Renée Ross, age 45, was unexpectedly called home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 13, 2021. Susan was born February 14, 1975, in Ross County, Ohio to Violeta Molihan Ross and Marvin Ross.
Susan was a long-standing member of the Jackson First Church of the Nazarene. Her commitment to Christ started at the age of 12, when she accepted Him into her heart and life. For many years she was a faithful member and taught vacation bible school because of her love for children.
Susan had a love of learning. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Rio Grande and obtained her master’s degree in Business Administration through Marshall University. Susan was employed by Marshall University as a Senior Accountant and was a big fan of the “Thundering Herd” along with being an Ohio State Buckeye Fan. Susan was very proud of her achievements and career, as were her family.
Susan is survived by her beloved family which includes her parents, Marvin and Violeta (Molihan) Ross; brothers, Michael (Melissa) and Brian (Ashlee); nieces, Kayleigh, Olivia, and Sophia Ross; and nephew, Dallas Ross. She is also survived by her lifelong close friend, Sheila Shoemaker Spencer; special coworker, Kelly Stump; and the Haller family (Paul, Marla, Zach, Nathaniel and Caleb).
Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 19th, 2021 from 5PM-8PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, February 20th, 2021 at 11AM with Rev. Isaac Shupe officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Due to the Covid -19 Pandemic and governor guidelines, everyone is to wear a mask while indoors. The family is asking that all respect and follow the CDC guidelines. Susan cared and advocated for individuals with disabilities and in lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that contributions be made in Susan’s memory to: Jackson County Board of Developmental Disabilities, PO Box 607, Jackson OH 45640.
