Roy Sheldon Warrens, age 80, of Beaver, Ohio passed away peacefully at his home from the loving embrace of his family into the hands of the Lord on Wednesday, January 26, 2022.
He was born in Floyd County Kentucky on December 2, 1941 to the late Joseph Hawley and Girlie (Triplett) Warrens. He was a graduate of Jackson High School and then went on to be a Sergeant in the United States Army (Battery C, 6th Missile Battalion 61st Artillery). Soon after his Honorable Discharge he went to work for General Motors in Mansfield, Ohio. A few years later they moved back to Beaver, Ohio and Roy became a member of the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers). Roy retired from Midwest Electric 32 years later. Roy enjoyed working on and restoring antique tractors. Roy was also a proud member of the Givens Chapel Church of Waverly, Ohio.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Karen (Sibole) Warrens; two sons, Marty (Lynn) Warrens and Mitch (Lissa) Warrens; grandsons, Bayley Warrens and Michael Leach; three great-grandchildren, Austin, Aisley, and Wylder Leach; future granddaughter-in-law, Tabitha Howell; brothers and sisters, Oswald “Bub” Warrens, Janice Graves, Myrna Flaker, Barb (Phil) Brown, Mary (Eldred) Hale, and Charlotte (Larry) Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by an infant brother, Raymond Warrens, Rondall Warrens, and Lowell Warrens.
Family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Givens Chapel Church, 8026 Germany Rd, Waverly, Ohio 45690. Memorial service will begin at 1:00 pm with Jerry Mullins officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson.
