Rosemary (Elcess) Harrison, better known as “Nanny Rose”, age 81, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on July 18th, 2024. She was born June 3rd, 1943, in Ironton, Ohio to the late Helen (Kinnison) Elcess and Morgan E. Elcess.
Rosemary is survived by her sister, Shirley Crabtree of Waverly, Ohio; brother, Frank (Connie) Elcess of Fort Mill, South Carolina; and sister, Marcia (Jack) Payton of Gallipolis, Ohio; along with many nieces, nephews, and special neighbors and extended family.
Rose married the late Thomas C. Harrison on June 5th, 1959. Together they made their home in Oak Hill, Ohio and raised two loving children, Robin (Jimmy) Slone and Johnny Harrison whom survive.
Nanny Rose proudly helped raise five grandchildren that she dearly loved, Justin Harrison, Jamie (Randi) Slone, Jesse (Morgan) Slone, Jonathon (Allison) Harrison, and AJ Harrison. Then came five great-grandchildren that she equally adored, JP, Spencer, Harrison, Jake, and Hudson.
Rose loved playing cards and was the Scrabble champ! She enjoyed feeding Cruz. She was a devoted Cincinnati Reds fan, watching the Redlegs every night.
Throughout her life, she enjoyed all her family gatherings and get-togethers with friends earning her the name of Nanny Rose to many!
Nanny Rose was preceded in death by her first grandchild, Justin.
Her memory will be cherished and kept by all who loved her, and she will be greatly missed.
