It is with heavy hearts that we announce Ronald W. Lathrop, a loving husband and devoted father, passed away peacefully on Sept. 15, 2024, at the age of 81.
He was born on January 10th, 1943, in Auburn, New York. Ronald was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on the U.S.S. Blandy destroyer ship during the Cuban Crisis. He was known for his barbershop singing and his unwavering commitment to his family. He was an original employee of Acme and later attained a degree at Penn State, specializing in social work and childcare. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 59 years, Phyllis Lathrop; his children, Eric and Jennifer; grandchildren: Holly, Jason, Ashley, and Joshua; and four great-grandchildren: Aaralynn, Jaydon, Kendall, and Scarlett.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the VFW in Sayre, Pennsylvania at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 26, 2024. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
