Renaldo Lee Dunn, or Ronnie, as he was more affectionately known, was born on November 30, 1939, the youngest son of four to parents Thelma and Foster Dunn. He passed away in the early morning hours of February 12, 2025, surrounded by loved ones in Jackson, Ohio, the city he called home for most of his life.
If one were to ask about Ronnie Dunn, they would find answers that varied, and yet they all came to the same end: that Ronnie Dunn was a joy. That his laughter echoed through wherever he went. They would tell you he worked hard for many years and retired from Mead. They would tell you he, along with his wife of 50 years, raised four children and spent many a Sunday surrounded by those children and their many grandchildren for dinners at their home. Some would tell you that he was in the military, a former Navy man and he had graduated from Jackson High School in 1959, a friend to many, his nickname “Greek” despite not being Greek at all. And still, others would tell you they will always remember him walking his beloved dog through town, even when said dog could do little more than be dragged along and eventually carried. It is almost certain that there would be tales of shenanigans orchestrated by him and his three brothers, and no doubt the story of how he loved his wife and was blessed to be married to her for 50 years. There would be stories of their trips to Vegas and Tunica, trips he continued to take in her honor, even after her passing. As it turns out, this year he chose to spend Valentine’s Day with her, and one cannot fault him for that.
He leaves behind a legacy of family to remember him including his three surviving children, Ronda (Gene) Bush, Randy (Nora) Dunn, and Lucinda (PJ) Wolfinbarger; fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 50 years, Glenda; his daughter RinaLee; his grandson, Ronnie; his brother, Merrill Dunn; an infant grandson; and his beloved dog, Candy.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 14th, 2025, at 1PM at Fairmount Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
