Oscar James “Jim” Goheen, age 83, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 18th, 2021, at Riverside Hospital in Columbus. He was born May 22nd, 1938, to the late Charles Goheen and Madge (Wyatt) Goheen of Coalton, Ohio.


Jim married his soulmate, Linda (Scurlock) Goheen on December 21st, 1963, where they lived in his childhood home for 56 years.


He was employed at Chun King, Jeno’s, Pillsbury, and General Mills from which he retired. He was also the owner of J&L Junkyard for many years.


Jim loved to restore old vehicles in his spare time over the years. He loved to hang out with his special friends, the late Gene Smith, Terry Hicks Sr., Donnie Bowling, and Larry Spires Sr.


He is survived by his sister, Joanne (Goheen) Hughes of Wellston, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; nephew, Jeff (Mary) Wilson; great-nieces, Holly (L.J.) Qualls of Minnesota, Haylie Wilson (Jerry) of Wellston, Ohio, Kayci Wilson (Chelsea) of Wellston, Ohio, Kelsey (Harry) Ostrander of Wellston, Ohio, Penny Wilson (Richard) of Wellston, Ohio, Jeremy (Becky) Hughes of Wellston, Ohio, Candace Hughes of Wellston, Ohio, Sam Wilson Jr. of Wellston, Ohio, Brandon Wilson (Tabitha) of Washington Courthouse, Ohio, and Chris Wilson of Wellston, Ohio; and special friends, Gary & Pam Taylor and Elizabeth Spires.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Linda Goheen and a brother, Willard Goheen.


Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 28th, 2021, from 12-3PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will immediately follow. Burial will follow at Byer Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
