Opal “Fay” (Napier) Tomblin, age 90, of Jackson, Ohio and formerly of Ragland, West Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 4th, 2023, at Jenkins Care Community. She was born June 16th, 1932, in Stiltner, West Virginia to the late Tim and Mary Sula (Lycans) Napier.


Fay or “Granny Fay” as she was lovingly known to many was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was the ultimate pastor’s wife and was a pillar within their church. She loved the Lord with all her heart and adored her children and all her grandchildren. She enjoyed decorating her home, and doing various sorts of crafts including quilting, woodworking, and ceramics. She had her own ceramic shop, Fay’s Ceramics where a lot of great memories were made. Fay will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.


She is survived by her children, Sheila (Dorain) Adkins of Richmond, Kentucky, Michelle (Jason) Howell of Jackson, Ohio, and Rodney “Porterhouse” Tomblin of Jackson, Ohio; grandchildren: Felicia (Chris) Walls of Oak Hill, Ohio, Dorain “Buck” Adkins of Richmond, Kentucky, Adam Adkins of Richmond, Kentucky, Shane (Cheyenne) Ferris of Grove City, Ohio, Destiny Tomblin (Rueben) of Chillicothe, Ohio, Mason Howell of Jackson, Ohio, and Chance Tomblin of Jackson, Ohio; great-grandchildren: Devon (Kendra) Walls, Zach (Kira) Walls, Adam Dwain Adkins Jr., Dylan Adkins, Daisy Adkins, Dixie Adkins, Emily Adkins, Ethan Adkins, Grayson Hightower, Eric Hightower, and Elly Mae Hightower; great-great-grandson, Owen Adkins; sister, Lizzie Marie Jones; daughter-in-law, Wanda (Justice) Tomblin; as well as several nieces and nephews.


In addition to her parents, Fay was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Harris Tomblin; son, Willis Tomblin; granddaughter, Susan Kay (Sexton) Adkins; daughter-in-law, Naomi (Lackey) Tomblin; and two brothers and a sister.


Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 8th, 2023, from 2-6PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 9th, 2023, at 12PM at Paul’s Chapel United Baptist Church with her grandson, Shane Ferris officiating.
