Mitchell Andrey Dobbins, age 33, of Jackson, Ohio passed away after an extended illness peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. He was born on September 18, 1989, in Kmeshkova, Russia, to Karen (Davis) and Dan Dobbins.

Mitchell was a kind-hearted young man who loved being around people and he was especially happy when spending time with his family members and friends. He had a special bond and closeness with his eight-year-old nephew, Braden. With whomever he met, Mitchell’s warm and sincere smile was contagious, and his manner was always inviting and friendly. He was sensitive as well as kind and it was always in his heart to help people in need when he was able to do so. For example, even though he was dealing with serious illnesses of his own in recent months, he made it a point on one occasion to reach out to give a homeless person some money.

However, Mitchell was also blessed with a fun-loving, adventuresome spirit, He loved to join others and go places and do things. He loved the outdoors and was particularly fond of the ocean and any time he could spend on a beach would gladden his heart. He loved sports and was a loyal fan of the Jackson Ironmen, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Cincinnati Bengals. His slim frame belied a good appetite, and he had a particular liking for any type of Asian food.

In short, his life was not long in years, but was long in living.

Mitchell is survived by his mother and father, Karen and Dan Dobbins; brother, Matthew Dobbins; two sisters, Olga (JL) Spirano and Elena Birmingham; nieces and nephews: Braden Dobbins, Jean Patrick Spirano, Andrey, Taylor and Lanie Birmingham; grandmother, Ann Dobbins; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl Dobbins and Steve and Mae Davis.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023, from 4-8 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Jackson.
