Mildred L. “Mickey” (Jenkins) Hughes, age 96, of Oak Hill, Ohio passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at her home in Oak Hill surrounded by her family. She was born November 5, 1925, to the late Walter E. and Della V. (Phillips) Jenkins.
She is survived by her children, Debbie (Carl) Hunt, and Linda (Jim) Adkins; six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Marie Holl; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Blanton; and numerous other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Hughes; son, Larry “Mike” Blanton; brother, Ray Jenkins; and brother-in-law, William Holl.
Mickey attended Cadmus school. After school she worked at a furniture factory in Jackson and then at Goodyear in Jackson. She enjoyed her children and loved doing various things with them. She loved to fish and hunt earlier in her life. She always was an outdoors type and always preferred doing harder outdoor work than inside work.
Public graveside services will be held 2:00 Sunday, January 16, 2022, at C.M. Cemetery with Joe Rife officiating. Burial will follow. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
