Margaret (Peggy) Evans Anderson, age 87, passed away July 6, 2023, in Reno, Nevada. She was born on December 18, 1935, to Richard (Ham) and Mabel Evans near Oak Hill Ohio.

She lived in Oak Hill until leaving to attend Miami University in Oxford, Ohio to become a teacher. Upon receiving her teaching certification, she married Gene Slaughter and moved to Jackson and Warren before settling in Columbus, OH. She taught elementary school in Jackson and Special Education in Columbus and Cincinnati and often commented that she “wondered what her students were doing now.” Peggy continued to teach before becoming a successful Realtor for HER Realty. She moved to Bozeman, Montana and opened a flower and gift shop and then followed her daughter to Reno, Nevada where she met and married Russell Anderson.

Peggy was an avid volunteer throughout her life as a member of the Assistance League and Kinder Key. Peggy never met a stranger and could entertain anyone with her stories. She loved children, laughing and was compassionate and tender hearted. She enjoyed travel, gardening, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Gwen Jones of Columbus, Lisa Mead of Reno, NV, and Scott Slaughter, of San Francisco; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Pat Riegel of Jackson, OH and Sharon Gregson, of Somis, CA. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all that knew her.
