Mamie M. "Sis" McGhee

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Mamie M, “Sis” McGhee, age 66, of Jackson, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, after a battle with cancer. She was born on April 6, 1957, in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Anderson Stiltner and Lenora (Sharp) Stiltner.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 44 years, Richard McGhee; two daughters, Cynthia (Sherman) Bentley and Michelle (Carson) Midkiff; five grandchildren: Kayla (Casey) Love, Sherman Bentley Jr, Melanie (Trent) Pethtel, Hunter Sisson, and Mathew Sisson; four great-grandchildren: Kilynne Jones, Aliyah Denney, Jalen Love, and Brycen Bentley; three brothers: Gary (Sherry) Stiltner, James (Jane) Stiltner, and Garland (Sherry) Stiltner; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving sister, Lena May Stiltner.

Mamie enjoyed spending her time with her family, playing cards, watching westerns, writing songs, listening to bluegrass, singing, taking care of pets, cooking, and sitting on her porch.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Holzer Medical Center-CCU for their care and compassion.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 24th, 2023, from 12-1PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson.
