Louise Nichols Simpson, age 91, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Rosemont Pavilion in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born on May 1, 1930 in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Cecil and Clara Adkins.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Wornie Nichols; second husband, Walter Simpson; daughter, Carlene Howard; brothers, Chester, Vencil and Oscar Adkins; sisters, Ellen Reese, Zelma Clarkson and Viola Chesser; sons-in-law, Greg Young and Tommy Howard, and a poodle, Frisky.
She is survived by her children, Sharon (Denny) Moore, Pam (John) Hamilton, Cindy (George) Seward, Trisha Young, Jeff (Amanda) Nichols, Steve (Tina) Nichols, Edward (Flo) Nichols; brother, Foster Adkins; sisters, Thelma Evans, Wyoma Hatfield, Rita Myers and Marilyn Downard. Also surviving are several grandkids; great grandkids; great great grandkids and several nieces, nephews, and her pet, Sheldon.
She was a member of several churches. She loved going to church and reading her Bible. She enjoyed going camping and spending time with her family. The family would like to thank Portsmouth Pavilion and Heartland Hospice for their care and compassion.
Viewing will be Wednesday, October 6, 2021, from 11-1 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Flowers may be sent in memory of Louise to the funeral home or in lieu of flowers contributions may be made her memory to Heartland Hospice, 120 Twin Oaks Drive Unit B, Jackson, Ohio 45640.
