Kendrick “Ken” Barker, age 89, of Jackson, Ohio passed away September 12, 2022, at Adena of Chillicothe. He was born December 6th, 1932, in Paintsville, Kentucky to the late Johnny and Lizzie (LeMasters) Barker.
Kendrick was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean war and was a recipient of a purple heart. He liked being outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in his yard.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Della (Blanton) Barker; children: Rickie (Susan) Barker, Kendrick Jr. (Wendy) Barker, and Michelle (Terry) Huss; grandchildren: Tracy (Jason) Webster, Elisbeth (Bob) Appis, Nicholas Barker, Laramie Barker, James (Patty) Holbrook, and Chastity (Devin) Teets; great-grandchildren: Abby, Levi, Bobby, Nathan, Olivia, Gabriela, and Brentley; and two brothers, Dan Harmon Barker and Robert Barker.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Michael Barker as well as his sisters Ada Cantrell and Brenda Banks.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 15th, 2022, from 4PM-8PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Friday September 16th, 2022, at 11 AM with Rev. Tim Salyers officiating. Burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
