John R. Love, age 70, of Oak Hill, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 15th, 2023, at his home. He was born June 5th, 1952, in Point Pleasant, West Virginia to the late Preston and Margaret (See) Love.

John was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School. He was retired from General Mills and was a former EMT in Gallia County. He enjoyed riding his Harley and spending time with his friends and his fur babies.

He is survived by his partner and love of his life, Angie Woods of Oak Hill, Ohio; daughter, Erika (Ralph) Kerwood of Bidwell, Ohio; stepson, Johnny “Slick” Caldwell of Gallipolis, Ohio; granddaughters, Jeena “Pistol” Caldwell (Toby Rupe) of Crown City, Ohio and Alexis Caldwell of Gallipolis, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Lyla Rupe and Kyden Rupe of Crown City, Ohio; siblings: Ronald (Suzie) Love of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, Betty Sue Crawford of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, and Nancy Rayburn of Apple Grove, West Virginia; special extended family members, Carolyn Williamson, Clint (Lisa) Potter, and Macy and Reese Potter; as well as special friends, Jack Ward and Dave Ward.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Edward Love, Robert Love, Ruth Ellen Love, Mary Ann Winebriner, and Opal Bradley.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 20th, 2023, from 3-6PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will immediately follow at 6PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
