Jeffrey Lee “Jeff” Gillum, age 71, of Jackson, Ohio passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 16, 2025. He was born June 7, 1953, in Oak Hill to the late Perry and Jean Gillum.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jeanne (King) Gillum; daughter, Lindsey Denney (Katlyn); granddaughters, Raylee and Elaina Denney; brothers, Ron (Barb) Gillum, Gary (Edie) Gillum, John (Connie) Gillum; sister, Cheryl Whetstone; sisters-in-law, Donna Palmer and Cathy Gillum; brothers-in-law, Steve (Laura) King and Rick (Deb) King; special nephew, Ronnie Gillum; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Jean Gillum; brother, Michael Gillum; brother-in-law, Dennis Whestone; mother and father-in-law, Donald and Mildred King; sister-in-law, Karen Rei, and her husband, George Rei; brother-in-law, Mario Palmer; and nephew, Alex Palmer.
Jeff graduated from Jackson High School, he worked and retired from Plibrico. In his younger years, he played with the Holberg Hollow Band. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He loved camping, traveling, family get-togethers, music and cooking. He was a member of the Jackson Amvets Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 11-2 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 with Pastor John Pelletier officiating. At his request he will be cremated at a later date with burial to be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jeff’s memory to the AMVETS Post 84, 208 Broadway St., Jackson, Ohio 456430, or the VFW Post 8402, 283 E. Main St., Jackson, Ohio 45640.
