JC Manering, 66, of Jackson, Ohio went home to his Lord and Savior on March 17, 2023, after being surrounded by many loved ones. He was born on July 28, 1956, to the late William and Catherine (Angles) Manering.
He worked many different jobs, but his passion was mentoring new hires at the family business of Angles Garage and Wrecker Service. He was a man of faith and a man of many talents but excelled at being an animal and baby whisperer. He loved the outdoors, watching wildlife, working on cars, but his passion was coaching baseball and softball, and spending time with his grandkids. He was a great listener, storyteller, lively prankster, and had a nickname for everyone! He also had a big heart for helping others.
JC is survived by his wife, Debbie Manering; children, Jake (Brittney) Manering, Chad (Brittny) Knittel, Chasity (Evan) Dempsey, and Caleb (Veronica) Knittel; siblings, Judy Yerian and Jeff (Amy) Manering; his sister-in-law, Mandy Manering; beloved pet, Miss Dixie; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, James, John, Jerry and Joe Manering and his daughter, Nicole Manering.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 25 from 12-4PM followed by a Celebration of Life at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson with Pastor Janie Karl officiating. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com. JC was not a man of materialistic wants or needs. Nothing made him happier than watching youth sports, especially when he was coaching or cheering on someone he loved.
The family is requesting no flowers or gifts. If you’d like to make a donation in his honor, checks can be made out to Big Red Diamond Club and mailed to Ohio Valley Bank, 740 Main Street, Jackson, OH 45640. Proceeds will go to the youth baseball and softball programs of Jackson.
