Janet Patricia Smith Loney Clark best known as “Patty”, age 94, peacefully passed away June 18th, 2021, at Holzer Assisted Living of Jackson. She was born October 16th, 1926, in Jackson, Ohio and spent all her life in Jackson except for a very short time in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lola Smith. Her first husband, Robert Loney passed at the age of 25. Then her husband of fifty-six years, Ed Clark passed at the age of 88. Her sister, Wanda Poetker also preceded her in death.
Patty was active in square dancing for 35 years along with her husband, Ed. They were members of the Wagon Wheelers square dance club and many other square dance clubs in the area. She wrote the newspaper column Patty’s Party Line-Time with Patty for 26 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Jackson where she served as a deacon. She was a member of RoAnn’s and served as past president, secretary, and news reporter.
She was also a member and past president of the Century Club. She was a member of the American Legion and the Jackson Health Advisory Board.
Patty and Ed loved to travel and loved camping. They enjoyed having friends over for dinner and loved having family gatherings.
She is survived by her children: Marsha (Tom) Perry of Jackson, Ohio, Craig (Donna) Loney of Columbus, Ohio, Kevin Clark of Jackson, Ohio, and Chris (Gina) Clark of Oak Harbor, Washington; she is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she enjoyed spending time with: Michelle (Shawn) Jenkins, John Perry, Todd (Dorota) Perry, Scott (Carri) Loney, Brian (Joanna) Loney, Jeremy Clark, Shawn Clark, and Stephanie Clark; step-grandson, Bradley (Kate) Klopping; and step-granddaughter, Savannah Moore; great-grandchildren: Lauren and Josh Jenkins, Kendra and Courtney Perry, Smith and Griffin Loney, Zuza and Ela Perry, and Lukas and Lydia Klopping; special niece, Mabel Poetker; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service for friends and family will be held on July 8th, 2021, at 11AM with Pastor Janie Karl officiating at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in her memory to Cancer Research, The Alzheimer’s Association, or the American Heart Association.
