James “Garry” Lewis, age 76, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Wednesday, April 5th, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 19th, 1947, in Patriot, Ohio to the late Foster and Pauline (Miller) Lewis.


Garry managed the US Oil Service Station in Gallipolis for many years. He also previously worked for Bob Evans Farms and farmed part-time for many years. He enjoyed 4-H clubs in the Gallipolis area and was active as a member and advisor and was also a supporter of several activities at the Gallia County Fair.


When able he attended church at Gallia Baptist Church which is where he was baptized. Garry always enjoyed life and being with people. He will be dearly missed by all those who loved him.


Garry is survived by his wife of 66 years and 4 months, Linda (Lane) Lewis; daughter, Angela (B.J.) Queen; granddaughter, Abby Queen who cared for Garry during the past six months of his failing health and helped Linda in many ways too numerous to mention; as well as brother, Richard (Becky) Lewis.


Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 10th, 2023, from 11AM-1PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1PM with Pastor Cline Rawlins officiating. Burial will follow at Addison-Reynolds Cemetery in Addison Township, Ohio.
