Homer M. Williams, age 91, passed away August 1, 2024, at his home in Greenway Square Retirement Community in Indian Land, SC. Born December 25, 1932, in Morehead, Kentucky to George and Beulah (Fite) Williams, he was the youngest of 11 children.
Homer was an Air Force veteran and served during the Korean War. He earned a bachelor’s and master’s Degree from Marshall University. He married Gloria Ann Watson in 1956 and began his 41-year career in Oak Hill, Ohio as a teacher, coach, high school principal, and administrator. Homer was a lifelong member of Faith United Methodist Church in Oak Hill, Ohio, a Shriner and a 32nd degree Mason, as well a recognized Kentucky Colonel. He proudly served as Worthy Grand Patron of The Order of Eastern Star for the state of Ohio in 1999. He and his wife moved to the Charlotte, NC area in 2007.
He is survived by his three sons, Timothy (Mary) Williams, of Painesville, Ohio, Jonathan (Cindy) Williams, of Des Moines, Iowa and Christopher Todd (Tammy) Williams, of Waxhaw, North Carolina; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Gloria Ann.
