Harold H. McCoy, age 68, of Jackson, Ohio passed away Wednesday, March 9th, 2022, at Edgewood Manor of Lucasville, Ohio. He was born November 23rd, 1953, in Collins, Kentucky to the late Harrison Frankin Sr. and Ruth (Kenrick) McCoy.


Harold worked at Certified Gas Station in Columbus, Ohio with his sister, Christy McCoy and at Chun King and Merillat in Jackson, Ohio until his health declined. He loved working outside and having a garden. He was a faithful Christian that loved God and loved to read the Bible. He would be at church every time the doors were open until his failing health no longer allowed it.


He is survived by his sisters, Pat Hutchinson of Pritchard, West Virginia, Maggie McCoy Bowen of Kenova, West Virginia, and Christy McCoy of Huntington, West Virginia; nieces whom he helped raise and thought the world of, Debbie Ferguson of Kenova, West Virginia, Michelle McCoy of Grayson, Kentucky, Ruthie Jean McCoy of Huntington, West Virginia, and Mary McCoy of Chesapeake, Ohio; special aunt whom he thought the world of and would visit and share snacks with at Heartland of Jackson, Rosie McCoy; close cousin and caregiver, Judy Rose (CNA) who was always there for him during his sickness and thought of him as an older brother; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy, Wanda, and Linda McCoy; brothers, James Ray, Trimble, Tim, and Harrison Jr. McCoy; very special aunt and uncle, Elmer and Betty Ferrell who helped him until the time of their passing.


He will be dearly missed by his family, his church family, and his friends.


Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 16th, 2022, from 4-8PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 17th, 2022, at 1PM at the Jackson funeral home with Pastor Knox Bullock officiating. Burial will military honors will follow at CM Cemetery in Oak Hill, Ohio. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
