Georgia Mae (McNeal) Gillfillan, age 92, of Jackson, Ohio passed away Wednesday, March 5th, 2025, at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson, Ohio. She was born March 16th, 1932, in Mount Victory, Ohio to the late Harry David McNeal and Cleo (Cantrell) McNeal.
Georgia graduated from Mt. Victory High School in 1950 and from Bowling Green State University in 1954. She married Norman Gillfillan in Mt. Victory in 1955. Norman is currently residing at the Holzer Assisted Living Facility in Jackson, Ohio. She was employed as a High School Home Economics and a Kindergarten teacher in the Oak Harbor School District for 35 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Georgia is survived by her husband, Norman Gillfillan; a daughter, Karen (Jeff) Elliott of Jackson, Ohio; a son, Dana (Ann) Gillfillan of Duluth, Georgia; three grandchildren: Susannah (Jonathan) Kistler, their children, Wynne and Keir, Adam (Ariel) Gillfillan, their child, Oliver, and Ashley (Ryan) McDonald; several nieces and nephews; and numerous additional beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis McNeal and Karl McNeal.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM on Sunday, March 9th, at the Lewis & Gillum funeral home, Jackson, Ohio. The funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 PM, with Rev. Janie Karl officiating. Burial will be held during a private ceremony at a later date in Wolf Creek Cemetery, Hardin County, OH.
