Gary Lee Oiler, age 79, of Oak Hill, went to be with the Lord on February 11th, 2023, peacefully in his sleep. He was born June 10, 1948, to the late Clarence and Thelma Oiler, who preceded him in death.
Gary met and married the love of his life Donna Faye on July 10, 1976, who survives.
In January of 1976, Gary and Donna adopted their only child, Wendy Cook, of Carrier Mills, Illinois, who survives. Gary was a proud grandpa of three grandkids, Kristie, James and Tammi; a great grandfather of six, and a great great grandfather of five.
He loved fishing and traveling to see his daughter.
Gary is survived by his wife Donna Oiler, of Oak Hill; daughter, Wendy Cook, of Carrier Mills, Illinois; uncles, Tom Clark and Jimmy Johnson; and a very special nephew, James Minner.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Dale Oiler; great grandson, Curtis Yarber, and many aunts and uncles.
Public visitation will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2023, from 6-8 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral services will be 12:00 Thursday, February 16, 2023, at the funeral home of Pastor Dennis Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in C.M. Cemetery.
