Flora (Isreal) Wilson, age 85, of Jackson, passed away Friday, November 3, 2023, In Jackson. She was born March 11, 1938, in Jackson to the late Francis (Booth) and Charles Isreal.


She is survived by her daughters: Brenda (Mitchell) Williams, and Cindy Walker, both of Jackson; her son, Chuck (Gabe) Wilson, of University Heights, Ohio; sister, Caroline “Susie” Hatten, of Jackson, Ohio; granddaughters, Erin (Dennis) Crabtree, and Lacey (Chuck Ford) Sturgell, all of Jackson, and Olivia Walker, of Raleigh, NC; grandsons, Jonah, Ty, Wayne, Hunter and Lucas Wilson, all of Jackson; great grandchildren, Bradin (Jayde) Crabtree, Kambra (Tyler) Storms, Trevyn, Braysen, Quentyn and Koaltyn Sturgell and Jaxson Crabtree. Also surviving are great grandchildren, Archer and Luxton; special nephews, Roy and Keith Hatten and several other family members and friends.


In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Dick” Wilson; sons, Charlie and Gerald Lambert; brothers, Bill, John, Jim, Goog, Roger, Loren and Jack; and sisters, Florence, Mabel, Betty and Marcella.


Flora came from a very large family and grew up poor after losing her father at eight years old. She was the first of her family to graduate from Jackson High School in 1956. She worked at the Jackson Vinton Community Action Head Start for 28 years until she retired in 2000. She never closed her door to anyone and always had company of some kind in her home. She was married for 49 years to the love of her life Richard “Dick” Wilson, who preceded her in death. She was a loving mother figure to everyone that knew her.


Visitation will be held Monday, November 6, 2023, from 4-7 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at the funeral home with Pastor Cheryl Browning-Warner officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
