Dottie Mae Brooks, age 87, a resident of Cornelius, North Carolina passed away, Thursday, May 9 at 1:27 a.m.  She was born on June 30, 1936, in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late John and Rachel (Crabtree) House.

Dottie is survived by her husband of 68 years, Richard Brooks; their daughters, Betty (Scott) Sears and Teresa (Jose Rivera) Brooks: two grandchildren, Rachel (Joe) Cummings and Jack Faulkner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Jack House, and her two sisters:  Betty (Glenn) McFann and Irma (Clarence) Giese. 

Dottie was a homemaker, who enjoyed the outdoors and doing yardwork.  She and her husband owned and operated Western Auto and Radio Shack in Wellston, Ohio for several years.  They later retired to North Carolina.  Dottie was a loving wife and had a wonderful relationship with both her daughters and grandchildren whom she loved spending time with.  Dottie will be deeply missed by her loved ones.

Visitation will be held at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill, 202 Maple Ave, Oak Hill, OH  45656 on Monday, May 13th, 2024, from 1-2PM with a funeral immediately following at 2PM.
