Doris Diane (McCoy) Skaggs, age 85, of Jackson, Ohio went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at the Jenkins Care Community in Wellston, Ohio. Doris was born November 23, 1937, to the late Delbert and Ruth (Masters) McCoy of Jackson.

In life Doris was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and a faithful Christian who loved Jesus with all her heart and soul and prayed that all her family and friends would love Him too. She was a member for many years of the Southside Christian Church in Columbus, Ohio where she raised her family and then moved back to Jackson and served at the Four Mile Christian Church, her home church.

Doris is survived by her children, Michael (Amy) Skaggs of Johnstown, Ohio, Pamela (Curtis) Mertz of Ashville, Ohio, and Brenda (David) Joseph of Groveport, Ohio; her ten grandchildren: Derrick, Jenifer, Andrew, Candace, Joshua, Jeremiah, Jessica, Nicholas, Matthew, and Megan; twelve great-grandchildren: Avery, Josie, Myles, Regan, Colin, Jackson, Lincoln, Pierson, Cameron, Caden, Addison, and Aniston; her beloved sisters, Judy Leach, Juanita Lutz, Linda Sollars, and Rebecca Griffeth; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years and the love of her life, James E. Skaggs; her brother, Wendell McCoy; sister, Jean (McCoy) Jenkins; and many loved in-laws.

Visitation will be held at the Lewis Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson on Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 11-1PM. Graveside services will immediately follow at 1:30PM at the Hamilton Cemetery with Curt Mertz officiating. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
