Delbert Ray Eggers, age 92, of Oak Hill, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Four Winds Nursing Home in Jackson. He was born on November 1, 1932, in Whitaker, West Virginia, to the late Charles A. and Frances (Birchfield) Eggers.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his twin sister, Della Mae Lipscomb; sisters: Ruth House, Mildred Kozma, Mabel Garnet Evans, and Myrtle Underwood; brothers, Charles Edward Eggers, Joseph Wilbert Eggers, and John William Eggers.
Delbert married his wife, Donna Louise (Canter) Eggers on March 23, 1956, in Wayne Indiana. Of the many things he did in his life, most notable are serving in the United States Army in the Korean War and helping manage the Oak Hill Food Pantry.
In addition to his wife, Delbert is survived by his daughter, Debra Eggers Browning; son, Darin Eggers; four grandchildren: Arron Ray Fortner, Lacie Lavonne Dudding, Terence "Seth" Fortner, and Daniel Isaiah Eggers; and 9 great grandchildren.
A public graveside service will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM at C.M. Cemetery in Oak Hill. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
