Deborah Sue Grow, age 73, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, September 13th at her home surrounded by her family following a long battle with kidney disease. She was born on December 16, 1949, to the late Charles “Bus” and Daisy (Vititoe) McGhee.
She graduated from Jackson High School in 1968 and married her high school sweetheart Everett Shepherd Grow on December 6, 1968. She enjoyed line dancing, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and getting together with her large extended family. She enjoyed going out to eat with friends any opportunity she would get. Debbie was always a joy to be around and never missed an opportunity to spend time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Everett Grow; daughter, Tina (Darren) Mapes of Jackson, Ohio; son, Chad (Julie) Grow of Logan, Ohio; grandchildren: Darren and Dillon Mapes and Gracen Grow; brothers, Chuck McGhee, Eddie (Sharon) McGhee, Gary (Norma) McGhee, Rick McGhee, and Donnie McGhee; sister, Etta McGhee; aunts, Norma Simmermacher and Karen Rayl; uncle, Lonnie McGhee; sister-in-law, Janice(Cal) Calderia; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Along with her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Saide Vititoe and Frank and Dorothy McGhee; sisters, Vicky McGhee, Tammy McGhee, and Diane Martin; brother, Roger McGhee, brother-in-law Bill Grow, sisters-in-law Joanne and Sis McGhee and Sharon Grow, mother-in-law Dorothy Grow, and father-in-law, Edwin Grow.
Friends will be received on Friday, September 15th from 5pm to 8pm and Saturday, September 16th from 11am to 1pm at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home, 28 Harding Avenue, Jackson, OH 45640. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 16th at 1pm with Rev. Butch Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
