David Wayne Walke, age 73, of Jackson, Ohio passed away Sunday, February 5th, 2023, at Hospice of Portsmouth. He was born July 13th, 1949, in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late Vern and Eleanor (Henry) Walke.
Dave was a 1967 graduate of Jackson High School and attended Wittenburg University. He was well-known as one of our area’s most talented artists and will be remembered fondly by all who knew and cared about him.
He is survived by his sons, Nathan Walke and Trent Walke; three precious grandchildren; siblings, Jim (Susanne) Walke and Debi (Rodney) Hanson; special cousin and best friend, Bill Henry; friend and mother of his oldest son, Jan Coburn; special friends, Jane Ann Grant and Karisa DeLay; brother-in-law, Frank Radune; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Martha (Rhodes) Walke; brother, Jerry Walke; and sister, Judith Radune.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 11th, 2023, starting at 1PM at Christ Church of Jackson with Deacon Janie Karl officiating. Family will greet guests immediately prior from 11AM-1PM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Jackson.
