Danny A. Evans, age 81, of Oak Hill, Ohio, departed this life to rest in the arms of Jesus on June 25, 2024.  Danny was born August 5, 1942, in Oak Hill.  He was the son of Edward and Mary (Allen) Evans, who are deceased.  Also deceased are Danny’s brothers, Eddie Lee and Dick Evans, and his beloved 28-year-old son, Brad Evans.

Danny is survived by his wife, of 34 years, Lynette (Steffy) Evans; Danny and Lynette’s daughter, Elisa (Corbin) Lang; and grandchildren, Ava and Jack Gullion.  Also surviving is Danny’s other daughter, Danielle (Terry) Hale; grandchildren, Joseph (Jessica) Hale, Andrew (Ashley) Hale, and Rebekah (Marcus) Putman; and 14 great grandchildren.

Danny grew up in Oak Hill, and his favorite place was his cabin at Lake Jackson.  He recalled so many memories of his mother struggling to raise her three sons, and all the love and support he felt from her, and from his cousins, Jane and Susan; and a very special aunt, Kate Dalton.  Danny worked for 25 years at the infamous Atomic Plant, and that is where the story began with Danny and Lynette.  They started together as Chemical Operators in 1981, and officially married in 1990.  They shared a happy life and had two children they both adored.  He was grouchy and gruff, and one of the funniest people his family and friends has known.  He worked tirelessly to provide for all of his family, and did his job as a husband, father, and grandfather.  Dan is also survived the many lives he touched over the years, known by a lot of folks as Snake, he was truly unforgettable.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 12:00-12:30 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Oak Hill.  Funeral services will follow at 12:30.  Burial will follow in Horeb Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com

With deepest sympathy and love to Lynette and all the family. Snake (Danny) was a great guy to work with at the atomic plant. There was never a dull moment when he was on the job (either for union or the company). Danny is a true loss for all of us.

Deepest sympathy to Danielle and all the family. My husband Frank and I moved from Dayton, Ohio to South Carolina in 2019. Unfortunately we will not be able to attend the services for Danny, I think Danny looked a lot like our dad. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Condolences from Connie Evans Elcess, (S C) Dorothy Evans Munyan (Oak Hill ), Rosalie Evans Lewis (Hendersonville, Tennessee) and Brenda Evans Howell ( Padre Island, Texas), Linda Evans Moses (deceased)

Thank you, Aunt Connie. It’s going to be rough getting along without him. He was my best buddy. I’m sorry for you girls, that all your brothers are gone. Yes, he did look quite a bit like Grandpa! Thank you for your post. Love, Dani
