Christine Denise “Chris” (Clark) Lewis, age 68, of Jackson, passed away after an extended illness on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Holzer in Jackson. She was born January 20, 1956, in Chillicothe, Ohio to Juanita (Farrar) Clark and the late Donald Clark.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Rodney Lewis; daughter, Jessica (Siders) and her husband, Benjamin Kahler; two grandkids, Adara Faye Kahler, and Rhys Donald Kahler; several brothers and their families, Steven, Bruce, and Greg Clark.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Stephanie Lewis.
Chris graduated from Jackson High School in 1974. She had a brief interruption in her studies to start her family and welcomed her daughter, Jessica in 1979. She resumed college at Ohio University and met and married her husband, Rodney Lewis in 1983 and graduated from Ohio University soon after and her and Rodney had a daughter, Stephanie. She loved to teach, her last years of teaching were in middle school, and she was the favorite of her students. She was a very Passionate, hands-on science teacher that was known to include animals, animal skulls, fossils, minerals, etc. She brought that same science education and fun of learning to her grandchildren. Her passion for teaching carried over to her real life. She wanted to help people in any circumstance that she could. She doated on her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.
Per her wishes, her body was cremated. Memorial services will be held 3:00 PM Monday, July 15, 2024, at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Jackson. Visitation will be from 1-3 on Monday. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
