Brenda Gail (Robbins) Hedrick, passed away from this life after a courageous battle with cancer on May 26, 2024 at her home, surrounded by family. Brenda was born December 29, 1950, in the mountains of Kentucky to the late Altie and Lester Robbins.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her sisters: Marge Smith, Ponzell Barker, Caroline Robbins, and Goldie Dunaway.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Larry Hedrick Sr., of Vinton, Ohio; her children: David (Ann) Hedrick, of Charleston, West Virginia, Lester Hedrick, of Vinton, Ohio, Larry Jr, (Krista) Hedrick, of Wilkesville, Ohio, and Alisha Hedrick, of Vinton, Ohio. Brenda is also survived by her loving family of ten grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; her sister, Eva, Arnold Green, of Vinton, Ohio; brother, Lester Jay (Kelly) Robbins, of Winchester, VA and many nieces and nephews, sister and brother-in-law, Fred and Linda Maxwell, of Buckhannon, WV; special niece, Kathy (Ron) Denney, of Thurman, Ohio; and nephew, James Ross, of Sydney, Ohio.

Brenda was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, grandmother, mother and friend. She was a businesswoman and entrepreneur that provided restaurant and seamstress services. She was a farmer’s wife that helped contribute to the success of the family farm. She was a mother to many young people that needed love and nurturing by providing foster care services. She made no secret of her faith by declaring her love for the Lord and how she served her family and loved those around her.

May Brenda rest in peace, free from pain, spending eternity with her first love, the lord Jesus.

Special consideration to faithful neighbors, Kenneth and Faith Napper. Special thanks to Ashley Scarberry of Heartland Hospice of Jackson, Ohio, to caregiver Heather Ellis and to all who supported the family during Brenda’s last days.

Services to honor Brenda are scheduled at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson, Ohio, with visitation hours on Thursday, May 30,  2024, from 4-8 pm.  Funeral services will follow on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 12:00 pm with Pastor David Collins of Fire Church of Wellston officiating.  Brenda will be laid to rest at the Curry Cemetery, on Covered Bridge Road, Vinton, Ohio.  Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
