On August 24th, 2022, Bobby Shelton age, 79, of Oak Hill, Ohio took his bride, Charlotte Shelton’s hand and entered Heaven where they could be together once again for eternity. He was born July 5th, 1943, in Greeneville, TN to the late Clyde and Gladys
(Gosnell) Shelton.
Bobby married his true love, Charlotte Ann Shelton on December 3rd of 1960. They were married 62 years before her passing on March 12th of 2022. Together they had three children whom he loved dearly and was very proud of.
On December 25th, 1979, he became a grandfather to Wendy Rae Kanouse. He instantly fell in love with her and spoiled her rotten until his last breath. Wendy considered him her Dad and best friend. She would go on to become his caregiver for the last seven years of his life. In the words of his late wife, “Those two are two peas in a pod and partners in crime.” She was always his angel and princess and he was her hero whom she thought could hang the moon and stars and was able to do anything. She remained with him until his last breath, and now he is her angel. Bobby had special relationships with each of his grandchildren, some of whom referred to him lovingly as “Grandpa Daisy” and thought he was the coolest grandpa ever.
Bobby retired as an iron worker from the local #172. He was a member of the VFW, Amvets, and the Eagles. He enjoyed the Cleveland Browns, the Buckeye’s, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his three children: Annette (Gus) Conley, Kathie Roach, and Bobby (Cathy) Shelton; loving granddaughters, Wendy Kanouse, Tabitha Conley, Brandina Moore, and Caitlin Ann Riepenhoff; special grandson, Derek Conley; great-grandsons: Dakota Andrew Kanouse, Nicholas William Kanouse, and Tyler Bryce Kanouse; great-granddaughter, Maddie Conley; siblings: Jack (Marcia) Shelton, Bill (Sandy) Shelton, Georgia (Ronnie) Fields, and Lucille (Bob) Hamilton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Charlotte Ann Shelton; grandson and best bud, Will Kanouse; siblings: Marie Britt and Agnes Watson.
Bobby will be greatly missed and there will be a sadness in the Shelton family. He was one of a kind and to his family he was everything. We know he is dancing in Heaven now with his beloved, Charlotte as he promised her.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 30th, 2022, from 1-3PM at the Lewis & Gillum
Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3PM with burial after
