 Bessie M. (Cameron) Angles


Bessie Madge (Cameron) Angles, age 91, passed away peacefully with family by her side at Memorial Hospital of Union County.  She was born November 12, 1932, in Greenup County, Kentucky to the late Russell and Roberta (Adkins) Cameron.  Bessie was raised outside of Wellston, Ohio where she graduated from Wellston High School in 1950.  On June 22, 1952, she married Clyde “Ed” Angles in Jackson, Ohio. He preceded her in death in March 2014.  They lived and worked in Chillicothe, Ohio while Bess continued her education to become a teacher and eventually received her master’s degree from Ohio University.  She taught and was a principal at Unioto Schools in Ross County until her retirement. Together they moved to East Liberty, Ohio, where she was residing currently. 


Bessie is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Eric) Vincent of Austin Texas; her son, Gary (Ann) Angles of East Liberty, Ohio; 7 beloved grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several special nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.


In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brother and sisters, Leetta (Orin) Sickles, Geraldine (Jake) Harrison, Russell (Harriet) Cameron, Barbara ”Bobbie” Angles, Sylvia (Harold) Meade, and Roma(Tom) Skinner; beloved great-grandson, Cameron M. Corrie; and several nieces and nephews. 


Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 16th, 2024, from 4-6PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 17th, 2024, at 1PM at the funeral home with burial after at Fairmount Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.

Prayers to all the Angles family. Enjoyed working with Bess at Unioto Elementary school. She was a very caring person. We are cousins through her husband Ed whose mother was Muriel Hattie Pittenger.
