Barbara Ann Cook, age 84, a resident of Coalton, Ohio went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 2:20 a.m. She was born January 3, 1940, in Johnson County, Kentucky to the late Charlie & Mary Culwell.

Barbara enjoyed serving the Lord with her husband of 63 years Julis “Cookie” as a devoted member of the Trippieville Baptist Church. She and her husband Julis Cook married on August 5th, 1960. Barb was a sister of ten siblings whom she loved dearly. Barb's deep devotion to the Lord was the loving foundation of her life, gently guiding her in everything she did, particularly in her cherished work within her church community. She loved to read the Bible and reading books was a relaxing pastime for her. Her passion for life was evident in her many hobbies. She found joy in cooking and gardening, where she could often be found tending to her flowers. She expressed her creativity through crafting, crocheting, and quilting, creating countless cherished keepsakes for her family and friends. Barb enjoyed nature and camping trips with her family. But most of all, she adored spending time with her family—her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. Her kind spirit, infectious laughter, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Barb is survived by her husband, Julis “Cookie” Cook; her two sisters, Lora Adams and Gladys (Michael) Wyatt; her daughter, Teresa (Mickey) Rothgeb; a son, Michael J. (Kelly) Cook; four grandchildren, Tiffany (Kyle) Ringwald, Julia (Keanon) Montgomery, Briar Cook and family, and Blaise Cook and family; two great-grandchildren, Lily Montgomery and Otto Ringwald.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, William and Sandy; and her six sisters: Elizabeth, Alice, Madge, Polly, Molly, and Wanda.

Visitation will be held at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson, 28 Harding Ave., Jackson, OH 45640, on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from 11:00 am-1:00 pm with a funeral service following at 1:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Arlie Howard. She will be laid to rest at Bethel Ridge Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.lewisgillum.com.
