Alan Drew Moore, age 65, of Oak Hill, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, December 17, 2022, surrounded by his wife, Debbie, devoted son, Jason, and special sister-in-law, Heidi. Alan knew the Lord and was ready to go home when he was called.

Alan was a fighter. He had fought his cancer battle for several years and continued to have a smile during his painful journey, inspiring many others who were fighting their battle.

In addition to his wife of forty-four years, Debbie he is survived by his son, Jason and daughter-in-law, Melissa (who was a daughter to him); his precious pride and joy granddaughter, Odessa Drew – Papaw’s girl, for sure; his siblings: David (Patsy) Moore, Teresa (Kenneth) Hughes, Ervin (Janell) Moore, and Clayton Moore (his loafing bud) all of Oak Hill, Ohio; his extended in-law family, Johnny (Melinda) Howell of Oak Hill, Ohio; Kim (Mike) Blasczyk of Parkville, MO; Heidi (Ken) Paffard of Georgetown, KY; father-in-law, John (Ruth) Howell of Jackson, Ohio; a special bonus friend to the family through his daughter-in-law, Pam Harris of New Lexington, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss his smiling face.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Dessie (Clark) Moore; sister, Ronda Moore; brother, Robert Moore (Freck); mother-in-law, Connie Howell; and brother-in-law, Jeff Howell.

Anyone who knew Alan was touched by his kindness, humor, and mild temperament. He had the ability to talk to anyone, and he never met a stranger. He never hesitated to let people know that he loved them and would do anything he could for them from the heart.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 20, 2022, from 12-2 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will follow at 2PM with Rev. Fred Crabtree officiating. Burial will follow in Horeb Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date for friends and family to enjoy talking, sharing stories, and fellowship to honor and celebrate the life of Alan, as he lived for the day, enjoying the things most dear to him.

In lieu of flowers, Alan requested donations be made to a program that was very dear to him:
