Marvin D. Smith, age 62, of Jackson passed away Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. He was born March 11, 1958 to the late Freda (Smith) Dever.

He is survived by his brother, Max Crow, formerly of Jackson; and sister, Kathi Hildenbrand. Also surviving is his nephew, Clayton (Kathy) Lambert; great nieces, Caytlon, Carissa and Kaycee Lambert; special cousin and friend, Rodney Smith; close friends, James and Naomi Marks; and a host of cousins, relatives and many many friends, especially at the Jackson County Beagle Club where he was a life time member.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Freda Dever and nephew, James Jennings Lambert.

Marvin graduated from Jackson High School. He worked for the City of Jackson Street and Alley Department. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting deer and fishing. He loved to read and help at the Beagle Club with target shooting and many other activities. Marvin loved everybody equally and always remained neutral. He will be missed by his family and many friends.

Private graveside services will be held at Fairmount Cemetery on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 with Rev. Janie Karl officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
