Christopher Dean Fisher, 59, of Oak Hill, Ohio left for his heavenly home on Friday, April 5, 2019. Chris, or “Big Fish”, as he was known by most of his friends, graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1977. His love of trucks started at a young age in the dirt in the yard. He then went on to help his father with the family concrete business. Chris was a lifelong, local businessman. He drove trucks, worked on trucks, bought trucks, sold trucks, loved trucks, and cussed trucks for over 40 years as the owner of Chris Fisher & Sons Trucking. His favorite pastime activities were driving backroads, checking his cows, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Chris is survived by his loving wife Gretchen Ondera-Fisher; children Ashley (Richie) Erwin, Josh Fisher, Justin “Pete” (Rachel) Fisher, Joshua Kisor, Toree Kisor, Hallee Kisor, and Lynzee Kisor; grandchildren Gwen Erwin, Trevin Erwin, Maddox Fisher, Boston Fisher, Abigail Fisher, Molly Erwin and Marshall Fisher; mother Mary Fisher; brothers Steve (Lori) Fisher and Michael (Tina) Fisher, nieces and nephews, all of Oak Hill. He also had a special companion, Boomer, who would lay in the chair with him all day long if necessary.
Chris was preceded in death by his father Ralph “Sonny” Fisher.
Chris, in his younger days, was a volunteer firefighter for the Madison-Jefferson Fire Department in Oak Hill. He continued to support the department by attending the Christmas Auction every year. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Madison-Jefferson Fire Department in honor of “Big Fish”.
“Big Fish” was an amazing man who touched many lives. He will be missed.
Friends may call Monday, April 8, 2019 from 2-7 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation at 7:00 PM with Pastor Cline Rawlins officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Madison-Jefferson Fire Department, 224 N Front St, Oak Hill, OH 45656.
