Be not burdened with times of sorrow.

I wish you sunshine of tomorrow.

My life has been full.

I have loved. I have been loved.

Little did we know on this day God was going to call her name. Mrs. B. Jayne (Kerr) Horton went peacefully on Thursday, May 18th, 2017 at the age of 86.

Jayne is survived by her daughter, Vicky (Carl) Coy with whom she lived of Jackson, Ohio; her son, Rick Grady of Dayton, Ohio; daughter, Tina Edwards of Jackson, Ohio; and daughter, Debra Keller of Palatka, Florida; twelve grandchildren: David Davidson, Shane Davidson, Amanda Coy, Tameron Demeter, Karen Ballinger, Gary Grady, Jerry Grady, Angela Crabtree, Eric Taylor, Justin Taylor, Jennifer Ward, and Chris Bates. As time marches on, she was blessed with nineteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Linda Trivette of Jackson, Ohio; a brother, Larry Kerr of Jackson, Ohio; and many other extended family members and friends.

God has already called three of her sons home:Frank “Goose” Grady, Doug Grady, and Greg Grady and her loving husband, W. Royce Horton who were all standing at Heaven’s gates welcoming her with arms wide open along with her parents, Gus and Goldie Kerr and grandparents, Elmer and Nancy Glass; as well as her brother, John Kerr and sister, Opal Ross.

Jayne was born on April 8th, 1931 in Jackson, Ohio to Gus and Goldie Kerr. She was happily married for 36 years to W. Royce Horton. She had seven children and was a loving mother who always put her children first. She was a hard worker and a great friend. She was passionate about art, where she was able to teach others her craft. She loved to stay healthy and fit by exercising, belly dancing, and helping teach water aerobics. She gardened and always canned several quarts of her home-grown vegetables. She loved lots of pet through the years. She was a member of Good Shepherd Wesleyan Church, the local Red Hat Society, and she was a former Senior Citizens Queen of Jackson, Ohio. She volunteered for many committees and events around town. She loved traveling with her husband, camping, loved the ocean, and enjoyed spending several months out of the year in their Florida home. She also loved working with Royce when he went out in the fields on a surveying job.

I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.

I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done,

I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,

Of happy times and laughing times and bright sunny days.

I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun,

Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
